The Municipality of Mariveles is eyeing public-private partnership (PPP) scheme for health and infrastructure projects. The LGU wants PPP for the construction and operation of a dialysis center and other projects.
Mayor AJ Concepcion and other municipal officials recently met officers of Bataan Public-Private Partnership and Investment Center headed by Abul Khayr Alonto II and raised the proposed project dialysis center in Mariveles citing the rising number of kidney patients who have to go to outside town to seek dialysis treatment.
Since dialysis machines are expensive and the hiring of licensed nurses who will perform the dialysis treatment is costly, the project will be requiring huge fund. With PPP, the dialysis center can be funded and established, and eventually serve the public, the point tackled in the meeting.
Alternative source of power project like installation of solar panels to establishments can also be funded through PPP. Municipal Administrator Tito Catipon, Municipal Planning and Development Officer Engr. Glady Dacion and Sangguniang Bayan Member Vonnel Isip joined Concepcion in the Bataan Public-Private Partnership and Investment Center meeting.
Aside from Alonto, they also met with Christian Cordero (PPP Office), Benjamin Lewis Co (LEDIP Office) and Ms Aesa Rivas (PPPIC Admin Office). The Bunker and 1Bataan Integrated Transport System Inc. are huge projects in the province under PPP.
